Thrilling hunting experiences in the land of a thousand lakes
Canada as a hunting destination
Canada, the world's second-largest country, is an unmatched natural paradise. Boundless wilderness, sweeping prairies, endless timberlands, high alpine ranges, and vast expanses of water await you here. For decades, adventurous sportsmen have been drawn to this magnificent realm. The iconic Indian Summer, the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains, and horseback pursuits through untouched backcountry all combine to create an unforgettable hunting destination.
Spanning a total area of 9,984,670 square kilometers, Canada is nearly as vast as Europe, yet home to just 35 million inhabitants. This sparse population—concentrated largely along the southern border—has preserved pristine wilderness across vast stretches of the country. Canada borders the United States to the south and northwest, and the Danish autonomous territory of Greenland to the northeast. While Ottawa serves as the national capital, the major metropolises are Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. Nearly half the country is covered by the Canadian Shield surrounding Hudson Bay—a terrain predominantly flat to rolling, save for low mountain ranges in eastern Quebec and Labrador. Highly interconnected river networks drain the region. The southern half of the Shield is blanketed in dense boreal forest, whereas the northern half and the Arctic archipelago extend beyond the tree line, defined by rock, ice, and tundra. West and south of the Shield lie the lowlands of the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes. The natural cover of the southern Prairie Provinces—Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta—consists of rich grassland, yielding to northern forest. Finally, western Canada is dominated by the dramatic, partially volcanic ranges of the Coast Mountains and the Rockies.
