Türkiye as a hunting destination

Turkey is only known to many as a holiday destination. Beautiful beaches, bright sunshine, spice markets, and an oriental, Ottoman atmosphere—that is what people associate with this country. However, Turkey is also a particularly attractive country for hunting. The diverse scenic and geological regions and the relatively sparse population in the rural and mountainous areas have ensured good game populations. Turkey has become known in particular for hunts for strong wild boars. Nowhere is it easier to harvest your boar of a lifetime than in this interesting hunting country. In the mountain regions in the south of the country, there are strong and massive Bezoar ibex; we have some of the best hunting areas under contract. What only very few people know: every year there are a few licenses for the Anatolian red deer.

With a total area of 814,578 km², Turkey is more than twice as large as Germany, but accommodates only about 75 million inhabitants. The most important cities are the capital Ankara in the center of the country and the megacity Istanbul in the northwest. Geographically, the country lies on the continents of Europe (about 3% of the land area) and Asia (about 97% of the land area). It borders the Black Sea to the north, Georgia, Armenia, and Iran to the east, Iraq, Syria, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and the Aegean Sea, Greece, and Bulgaria to the west. Due to this central position between the two continents, Turkey has always represented the link between Orient and Occident. In terms of landscape, Turkey is highly diverse. From the thousands of kilometers of very fertile coastal strips to the rolling hills of the Aegean, the Thracian and Central Anatolian high plateaus, the fertile regions of the Euphrates and Tigris, and the high mountains of Eastern Anatolia, a wide variety of landscapes are on offer. Climatically, the country is just as diverse as its geography. There is a Mediterranean climate in the coastal regions, a steppe climate in the Anatolian highlands, and a continental climate with cold winters in the Eastern Anatolian mountain ranges.
