Red stag Belarus

Belarus

Hunt with us in Belarus red stags with a cup on the top of the antlers. Experience a hunting destination with many facets, an exciting hunt and professional hunting managers. In 2005 Polish red deer from the „Rominten heath“ were brought into the Pripet marshes to build up a healthy population. The primary goal was to recover the antler cup, which had been lost in Poland and large parts of Russia.

Meanwhile, the population has developed so well that a sustainable and selective hunting of a few deer can be offered from this year on. You will hunt your red stag during the rut while you are guided by a professional hunter. Look forward to a rutting experience  in a breathtaking landscape that you will never forget.

Informations about red deer (Cervus elaphus)

The red deer is a widespread species of the real deer. The main distribution areas spread over much of Europe, and it has also been successfully reintroduced in some areas of South and North America, as well as in New Zealand. Due to the high adaptability of this species, red deer can be found in many different habitats. In wooded highlands and high mountains, the almost treeless landscape of Scotland, the humid floodplains of southeastern Europe or the hot and dry plains of Spain, there are good populations.

Red deer can reach weights of up to 350 kg, depending on the habitat and the range offered, with a shoulder height of up to 150 cm.

The adult hinds form herds with their offspring. Younger stags also form smaller herds, whereas the older stags roam alone or with a smaller stag most of the time. During the rutting, the strongest deer keep a female herd. The distinctive roaring of the deer is then heard far and an impressive natural spectacle.

The trophy is very different in branching variety and strength depending on habitat.

Red deer have an excellent hearing, sense of smell and eyesight.

In Belarus jagen wir auf den Rominterhirsch. Die  Trophäen können in Ausnahmefällen auch Gewichte bis 10 Kg erreichen. Sie zeichnen sich durch dicke, dunkle, gut geperlte lange Stangen aus.

Hunting method/hunting season

In Belarus, the rut begins in late September and during this time you have the best chances. The hunt is a combination of single hunt and stalking. Early in the morning you drive into the Pripet marshes and stalk slowly to the well-known rutting grounds. There you sit and wait for a while. If no suitable stag comes into sight, you continue listening to the roaring stags and try to locate them. If a suitable stag is identified, you will stalk him with your hunting guide.

Hunting a Rominten stag in Belarus is a unique experience and you will return with unforgettable memories.

Equipment

The equipment does not have any special requirements for this hunt. The clothes should be adapted to the late summer, it is best to bring a set of a little warmer and a set of lighter clothing with you. It can be warm as summer or cool as autumn. In addition, you should of course take good binoculars with 8x or higher magnification, to be able to spot the deer correctly. For the calibers you can shoot all common sizes from 7 mm and higher. We recommend using powerful calibres such as 8 x 68 S, 9.3 x 62 or.300 calibres (Winchester, Weatherby, Pegasus).

Accomodation

During your stay you will live in well-developed hunting lodges within the hunting ground. The sanitary facilities are clean and tidy. After a long and eventful hunting day you will be served very well. Belarusian cuisine is known for its generous portions and you will enjoy it! After you have strengthened, you retreat to your cozy room and rest for the coming hunting day.
