Mosel Special

This approx. 3,000 hectare forest / field area lies north of Trier and not far from the border with Luxembourg. While the high plateau largely consists of agricultural areas, meadows or pastures, the Moselle slopes are populated with mixed forests. The beech afforestation, the numerous thickets, but also the very high proportion of blackberry and raspberry deposits offer an almost impenetrable wild boar Eldorado.

The area is considered one of the richest in wild boar in the region and there may be 3-digit daily tableaus. The goal is to intensively reduce the wild boar by a two-day hunt with two drives per day. This area is very demanding due to its steepness, the numerous gorges and small valleys and poses great challenges for the shooters, but also for the dog handlers and their four-legged helpers.

There are 2 drives per day. In total, around 1,700 hectares of forest are hunted over the two days. It is important to the land owner that hunting is done in accordance with the laws of hunting justice. Young game before older game, weak before strong. The shooting distances are usually less than 100 meters.
