Hunting season in the rainforest is from December to the end of July. If you are hunting for bongo, we recommend the time between March and July, as noiseless stalking is only possible during the rainy season. The bongo hunt with local trackers takes place almost exclusively on the prowl. Often, after a downpour or rain, bongos are in motion. Once you have located a fresh and promising trail, the trackers, mostly Pygmies, start their impressive work and follow the tracks in the dense rainforest. The dogs are left loose as soon as you are near the bongo. Then it's time to be ready - a strong bongo bull can not be tied up by dogs for long.
